"IN ORDER TO SEE YOU HAVE TO STOP BEING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PICTURE"

                                                                                                                           Sri Aurobindo

In India I grew up in a region called Kerala. There I lived with my family on a farm with hundreds of coconut trees and huge rice fields. Kerala is the home of Ayurveda and was therefore also a part of my everyday life. When I was sick, my mother used to collect Tulsi leaves from the garden to make me a tea. We used fresh, homemade hibiscus paste as shampoo. We were a part of nature and discovered our treasures in it and were taught to always look out for them. Just as important as the love of nature has always been the love of fellow human beings: My father, who owned the only car in the village, drove the children from the neighborhood to school, and the family doctor treated the poor for free.

This childlike inspiration of ecological and social connectedness is what we want to achieve at āsmi Ayurveda - a lifestyle brand with authentic products, developed with Ayurvedic experts, that is climate positive. I started conceptualizing teas because Ayurveda has been using teas for thousands of years. They are called "Kashayam." I got in touch with Dr. Sreekrishnan, my father's family doctor. He has been researching and teaching Ayurveda for more than 35 years. With the help of Dr. Sreekrishnan and leading tea masters in Hamburg, we developed the Asmi tea collection together.

So far we have developed three organic tea variations. The bond we have with one another plays a major role in our consciousness. Thus, lived inclusion is also an integral part of our philosophy. We work closely with the organisation "Wertkreis" from Gütersloh to integrate this idea into our production.

Our vision of an authentic Ayurvedic tea that is ecological, sustainable, socially integrative and attractively packaged - in Nordic design and yet rooted in tradition - thus finds its expression.

We are happy that you too are part of the āsmi family, where we can say: I am responsible, I am sustainable, I am the change I want to see in the world.
